Project Manager
The Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver projects that span across multiple business units. Manage resources, schedules, and financials and adhere to stage gate quality and ISO9001 guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle. This also includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.
The Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis. Verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case.
Duties & responsibilities
Reporting to the Delivery Success Manager to deliver client projects on time and to programme
Creation of project plans and management of project teams to deliver to plan
Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across senior leadership
Taking responsibility for resource and financial control of projects, and reporting on project status
Quality assurance role ensuring that project deliverables are to standard before issue or delivery
Liaison with clients and project partners, working directly with them to resolve particular issues where they arise
Ensuring compliance with an understanding of health and safety requirements
Managing sub-contractors
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate staff
Extensive understanding of project and program management principals, methods and techniques
Essential experience and qualifications
Strong experience leading complex projects with multiple subcontractors
Experience of delivering processes and systems in relevant industries (electricity networks, renewables, telecommunications, control systems) with corresponding site commissioning experience
Experience in Project Management Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall
Delivery of systems with a significant software component, whether bespoke or product
Project management skills including an ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, using internal staff, subcontractors, and consultants
Experience of successful financial management of projects, managing both consultancy and systems integration
Experience in client relationship management
A self-starter attitude with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work in a team and manage diverse resources, internal and external
Have excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
Strong experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment
Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs
